A lifelong entrepreneurial spirit
Jones’ entrepreneurial journey began at the age of 8 in the snake oil industry, shaped by the hustle of his father, a natural-born salesman, and the community spirit of his grandfather’s bar and grill. Influenced by mentors like Curtis Fort, Franklin Covey, Anthony Robbins, Nathaniel James, Andrew Carnegie, Janet Mills, L.V. Jones, Napoleon Hill, Shirley Jones, Jose Silva, and his father, Jones developed a mindset centered on bold action, resilience, and understanding human behavior in every transaction.
“I’ve never been afraid to take the lead, ask questions, or start from scratch,” Jones said. “I’ve always believed in visualizing what I want, taking bold action, and learning from every setback.”
One pivotal moment came when Curtis Fort, while Jones was running the marketing department at The Murkin Group, offered transformative advice: “Demetris, you have to believe in yourself. Give me the plan.” Fort’s encouragement to embody confidence — whether the plan succeeded or not – unlocked Jones’ inner drive. This experience inspired him to launch his first marketing company, which eventually paved the way for AutoAllyX.
Revolutionizing the dealership experience
After leaving The Murkin Group, Jones turned his attention to the inefficiencies in dealership operations. “When customers arrive at a dealership lot, they often don’t know who they’re dealing with. There’s an immediate wall of mistrust,” he explained. “Some dealerships rely on outdated sales tactics, but customers today can easily research those strategies online.”
AutoAllyX addresses this by offering a transparent platform where customers can access salespeople with verified ratings of 3.5 or higher. “No salesperson can claim they’re the best — we let the customers decide,” Jones said. After booking an appointment through the app, customers can leave reviews based on their experiences. Salespeople who fall below the 3.5 rating threshold undergo a re-education program personally overseen by Jones. “I’m a customer advocate,” he said. “I’ll sit down with the salesperson, review the customer’s experience, offer tips, and provide another opportunity through a secret shopper evaluation.”
Dealerships benefit by investing in AutoAllyX’s database, gaining access to top-performing salespeople across the Greenville area. To join, dealerships can enroll with a minimum of 10 salespeople and pay a fee to feature their top talent on the platform. For customers, the app is at no cost to sign up. “This app was created for customers,” he said. AutoAllyX has also offered optional premium tools like the analyzation feature (Deal Builder) for an affordable price.
A vision for the future
Jones’ vision for AutoAllyX is clear: to create a win-win ecosystem where customers feel empowered, salespeople build meaningful careers, and dealerships thrive through trust and efficiency. AutoAllyX is now live on the Android store making it more accessible to car buyers everywhere. AutoAllyX has enhanced a few features recently such as their Deal Builder feature. It is considered a Smart Deal Calculator. “It’s the same professional tool that desk managers use inside dealerships, but now it’s placed in the customer’s hands,” Jones shared. The Deal Builder tool gives customers 1. A likelihood of approval 2. A likelihood of interest rates and 3. A ballpark interest rate that is closer to reality than estimations. “Customers can build and print their deal in dealership format and walk in ready to negotiate from a position of confidence, “ Jones explained.
