Thomas Rhodes

Thomas Rhodes is a fourth-generation South Carolina entrepreneur and partner at Rhodes Companies, a diversified holding company with operations across the United States. He serves as a commissioner of the South Carolina Department of Transportation, representing the entire state. Rhodes also served as chairman of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, where he was the youngest chair in the organization's history. During his tenure, he led the successful merger with the South Carolina Manufacturers Alliance, creating South Carolina Manufacturers and Commerce (SCMC), the unified voice for business and industry across the state. His leadership spans both the public and private sectors, with current and past board service including the Clemson University Board of Visitors, Midlands Business Leadership Group, the Center for Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement (CERRA), and the Salvation Army of the Midlands.
