Recovery Centers of America (RCA) at Greenville announced today the addition of Dr. Jeffrey Harris as the new medical director, bringing more than two decades of clinical leadership and addiction medicine expertise to the role.

Dr. Harris is a seasoned physician with a Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University (LSU) and a South Carolina medical license who spent the last 13 years operating and scaling outpatient medication-assisted treatment (MAT) practices and urgent care centers across multiple states. He most recently served as chief medical officer for a national healthcare technology company, where he focused on driving quality patient outcomes and team-based care delivery.

“I was drawn to RCA’s mission-driven, compassionate commitment to care, evidence-based approach, and the opportunity to lead meaningful change in addiction treatment,” said Dr. Harris. “I’m looking forward to mentoring providers, supporting team development, and helping implement clinical workflows that ensure consistent, patient-centered care.”

Dr. Harris defines success as empowering staff across all roles, fostering measurable outcomes, and cultivating a unified medical team. Within his first 90 days, his goal is to build trust with staff, assess new systems, and deepen the clinical foundation of RCA at Greenville.

Originally from Baton Rouge, Dr. Harris relocated after Hurricane Katrina and now calls the Upstate region home. For him, RCA at Greenville’s location holds personal significance. “It’s a privilege to serve the very community I live in. I want to help reduce stigma around addiction and build strong support networks for long-term recovery.”

Dr. Harris’ hobbies include fishing, golfing, and coaching his kids’ sports teams. He played baseball at LSU and was part of two national championship teams.

“We’re honored to welcome Dr. Harris to RCA,” said Lisa Goodnough, CEO at RCA at Greenville. “His deep experience, collaborative leadership style, and passion for recovery will be a tremendous asset to the patients and staff at RCA Greenville.”
