Public Service Commission of South Carolina Schedules Hearing for Piedmont Natural Gas Rate Request

The Public Service Commission of South Carolina has scheduled a customer public hearing in Docket No. 2026-61-G, which involves Piedmont Natural Gas Company, Inc.'s request for an adjustment of rates and charges, including a request for an increase to natural gas rates, according to SC Utility Consumer.

In its application, Piedmont proposes an overall average increase in revenues of 6.3 percent, or approximately $16.2 million. More details can be found in the Notice of Filing and Public Hearings at this link and in the Company’s application at this link. 

This customer public hearing will take place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026, and continue on Wednesday, July 15th only if all slots for the 14th fill up.

The hearing will be held at the Commission’s Hearing Room (101 Executive Center Drive, Columbia, SC 29210) and will be virtual or in-person, meaning ratepayers can provide testimony either by attending in-person or registering to deliver virtual testimony via telephone or WebEx.
