Spartanburg, South Carolina-based OTO Development has purchased its first property in Texas, expanding the geographic reach of the company’s portfolio hotels.
The hotelier, part of The Johnson Group, acquired Hyatt House Dallas/Uptown on Thursday, Sept. 4.

Hyatt House Dallas/Uptown is a four-story, 141-key extended stay hotel in the Harwood District, which comprises office space, condominiums, restaurants, and lodging.
The location is a five-minute walk to Katy Trail, an urban greenway, and a few blocks to The Crescent Court and the American Airlines Center, home of the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars.
It’s a 30-minute drive from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
As the only extended stay property in Uptown Dallas, Hyatt House offers studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom suites, each with a full kitchen, work area, and living space.
Amenities include an outdoor pool, a fitness room, a 24/7 business center, and a grab-and-go H Market. Breakfast is complimentary, with dinner and drinks available at the onsite H Bar.
OTO plans a refresh of guest rooms, shared spaces, and outdoor leisure areas. In addition, OTO will support the hotel with a corporate platform comprising technology, human resources, revenue management, and marketing.
Hyatt House Dallas/Uptown is located at 2914 Harry Hines Boulevard in Dallas.
Founded in 2004 and partnering with the Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, and Marriott brands, OTO owns and/or operates 54 hotels comprising 8,663 room keys.
OTO’s growth is focused on developing new hotels in high-barrier-to-entry markets, purchasing and repurposing existing hotel properties, and expanding third-party management relationships.
