Jesse Smith

Jesse Smith leads the Jobs & Economic Development Authority as it promotes and develops the business and economic welfare of South Carolina by assisting in financing public and private projects. With more than 22 years in the financial services industry, Smith began his career in banking. He worked mostly as a commercial banker with First Citizens, expanding the commercial portfolio and providing long- and short-term financial solutions. He enjoys being involved with community organizations such as the Business Development Corporation, Columbia College Foundation, and Columbia Museum of Art. He is also a board member of The Palmetto Club, Southern Bank, and InvestSC.
