Indaco has announced Jessica Herter’s promotion to Executive Chef. After years of working with the team, Chef Herter is now officially running the show at Indaco, embracing this new chapter with a curated fall menu, linked here.
Chef Herter has been a player in the Greenville food scene for years, with pivotal experience at Urban Wren and Coastal Crust before joining the Indaco team. Today, Chef Herter leads the restaurant with a focus on excellence, collaboration, and genuine hospitality.
Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Herter grew up immersed in the hospitality world, learning of both the rewards and challenges that come with it by observing her father’s career as a chef. She went on to study Culinary Arts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Punxsutawney before launching her career in Greenville, South Carolina.
Her experience includes roles as Chef de Cuisine at Urban Wren and District Chef for Coastal Crust, where she developed a deep appreciation for teamwork, leadership, and the camaraderie that defines kitchen culture.
Now at the helm of Indaco Greenville, Herter leads her team with a focus on excellence, collaboration, and genuine hospitality. Officials with Indaco note that she brings a deep passion for creating memorable dining experiences through scratch-made Italian cuisine, guiding every aspect of the kitchen with precision and care. From her seat leading the restaurant’s team, finances, and of course, menu, she ensures the highest standards of quality and consistency while remaining an active presence on the line.
Officials go on to say that Herter’s leadership is defined by a balance of discipline and empathy. She sets clear expectations, cultivates accountability, and empowers her team to grow both professionally and creatively. Committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, she values authenticity, teamwork, and the shared responsibility of delivering exceptional food and service that makes guests feel truly cared for.
Outside of work, Herter enjoys the outdoors, often spending time near the mountains with her girlfriend or relaxing at home with her cats and Nintendo Switch, playing Stardew Valley.
