Gary Siegfried serves as executive director of the South Carolina Aeronautics Commission (SCAC), where he leads statewide efforts to enhance airport safety, strengthen airport infrastructure, expand aviation education, and provide air transportation support for state officials. Since joining SCAC in 2016, Siegfried has advanced through several leadership roles, playing a central part in improving the state’s airport network. He oversees the statewide airport capital improvement plan, guides policy development, and ensures that airport projects align with state and federal standards and funding programs. His work has driven statewide initiatives including economic impact analyses, and systemwide maintenance and safety programs. Before entering public service, Siegfried served as facilities manager for the Augusta Regional Airport and managed aviation engineering projects for Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationwide airport engineering and planning consultant.
