Alan Wilson was elected to the post of South Carolina’s 51st attorney general in 2010 and is now serving his fourth term in the position. He oversees an office of almost 300 employees and about 90 attorneys who manage nearly 8,000 active cases. A graduate of Francis Marion University and the USC School of Law, Wilson previously served as state assistant attorney general. During his tenure as AG, Wilson has helped lead a 26-state challenge to the federal health care mandate and helped to establish a Human Trafficking Task Force. He is a veteran of the Iraq War, where he earned the Combat Action Badge.
