“Lead by example” is cliché, but always fitting. Leadership defined by compassion, through service, and marked by a zealous work ethic sets the bar high so your team knows what is expected of everyone who wants to be a part of it. Leadership also must include humility, humor, and an unmatched drive for results.
Take the risk. It may not make sense to others, it may be a tough decision, it may get questioned, but take the risk. Whether it’s a lateral move or changing course completely, be intentional about taking calculated risks to broaden your horizons and open new doors. When I moved from a clinical role to a financial/operational role, it didn’t make sense to anyone but me, but I’m so thankful I did!
