Leadership is the ability to work with and alongside others, demonstrating by example and guiding others with integrity and purpose while creating meaningful impact. It requires listening, making informed decisions, and empowering others to succeed. True leadership is measured not just by results, but by the positive difference you make in people’s lives and the standards you uphold.
I believe my greatest strength is the ability to adjust to a situation and multitask. Balance strategic thinking with empathy -- whether advocating for clients or leading a business, I focus on both outcomes and people.
I’ve been fortunate to learn from many strong mentors. I’ve learned to lead with integrity, discipline and the significance of relationship-building from my father. My mother taught me how to be creative and to trust my instincts, and the need to grow relationships.
My greatest fear is failure. I manage that fear by looking forward and always doing the best I can at anything I do. I also work hard to maintain balance by riding horses and spending time with my family to keep perspective.
Always try your hardest. Be willing to listen, ask questions and admit mistakes. Stay disciplined and consistent but true to yourself. Success rarely comes from one big moment. It is built over time, through steady effort, strong relationships, and a clear sense of purpose.
I am very proud that I have built a unique career that spans multiple industries – both complex national litigation and successful retail businesses. Being able to advocate for individuals that can’t advocate for themselves while also creating a meaningful and memorable experience for those celebrating special life moments in a completely different industry has been especially rewarding.
Preparation and hard work matter. Regardless of the industry or setting, being thoroughly prepared builds confidence, credibility and trust.
I wouldn’t change my path, but I would tell my younger self to better accept and learn from criticism. It doesn’t mean you failed; it means that you have room to do better and improve. Everyone has something to offer and something that can help another be better.
