Charlita A. Moss has worked for Atchison Transportation Services, the company founded by her grandfather, Charles E. Atchison Sr., for more than 30 years. She spent several years as director of finance before assuming the role of president. An alumna of Spartanburg Community College, Moss graduated from Leadership Spartanburg in 2004. She has served as an executive board member of the Spartanburg Community College Foundation, as well as a board member of the American Red Cross and Ten at the Top. She and husband Kelvin Moss have two children, Bryashia and Christopher.
There is only one mentor that I can attribute to my success and my outlook on life: my grandfather. The man who built Atchison Transportation from nothing because he had a dream of not being the man driving the taxi but to be the owner of the taxi. He meant everything to me and taught me through his actions what it means to persevere and work hard in a system that is fighting against you.
